Koiva Seal is looking for design partners

We are building the record layer for African institutions — the decision trail behind every signature. Before it ships, we want a handful of organisations to shape it.

Most governance software sells you a signature. Koiva Seal starts from a quieter conviction: signing is the last thing that happens, not the important thing. What matters — to a regulator, to an auditor, to a court, to a board that has to answer for a decision three years after it was taken — is the trail behind the signature. Who received the pack. Who raised the objection. Which version was approved, by whom, and when. That trail is the product. The signature is just the terminal act at the end of it. Koiva Seal is in development: board packs, minutes, resolutions, action tracking and contracts, kept on a record that is append-only by construction. Entries are hash-linked, so altering one breaks the chain visibly. No one can quietly edit history — not a platform administrator, not us. That is not a policy promise. It is enforced in the database, and it is the first thing we built, because a record layer that asks you to trust the vendor is not a record layer. The signature at the end is designed to be legally defensible, chained to Kenya's national public key infrastructure. Before we ship it, we want to build it with the people who will have to live in it. So we are opening a small design partner programme — a handful of organisations where governance is real work, and where a lost decision trail is measured in regulatory findings rather than inconvenience. We are looking for SACCOs, NGOs and foundations, CMA-regulated institutions, county entities, and the law firms that serve them. Design partners get direct influence over what gets built and in what order, early access, and a direct line to the people writing the code rather than a support queue. We ask for your real workflows, a few hours of the company secretary's or the finance director's time, and honest feedback when we get it wrong. Especially when we get it wrong. This is not a free trial. It is a working relationship while the product is still soft enough to change shape. The river moves. The stone remains. If that sounds like your institution, apply at seal.koiva.tech.
